Berlin 2013

It is my senior year of high school and I can not think of a better way to end my school year then going back to Berlin Germany for the 3rd time to work with the wonderful organization European Initiative. The people who work at EI are some of the most spiritually motivated people I have ever met and have taught me so much about what it means to share your story with someone else. Here are the some of the statistics I heard about the first time I went to Europe that left me completely shocked:

Alarming statistics that confirm Europe’s spiritual decline:

  • Europe is the least evangelized continent in the world.
  • Less than 4% of Europeans attend church regularly.
  • More than 250,000 villages, towns and cities in Europe do not have a single evangelical church.
  • There are more practicing Muslims than evangelical Christians in France.
  • 19 of the 25 highest percentages of atheists are in Europe.
  • 7 of the 10 highest suicide rates are in Europe.
  • 16 of the 20 lowest birth rates are in Europe.
  • 85% of Germans have no hope for the future.
  • 80% of the French people have never read, held, or seen a Bible.
This is why each year I send out these letters asking you to give money to send me to Europe. Your gifts are not to pay my way, but to pay THE way for these lost people to actually hear about the story of Christ that you and I are so familiar with.
For the trip, the amount for me to go is $2400 and $1200 of that is due this week (4/10/13) for me to pay for my plane ticket. I have the faith that God will deliver every cent of that money this week, and that is why I am fearlessly asking you to give towards this trip.
